Barretstown is a magical place but don't just take our word for it. Read the views of our campers, their parents, and on the next page, Medical experts and our Caras and volunteers...
The beneficiaries of Barretstown appear to be everybody who gets connected with it. The caras and staff get as much from the kids as they give. It’s an extraordinary circular experience. It’s not that the children say ‘Thank you for a wonderful time ...’ ... it’s that they say ‘Thank you for changing my life’. |

I am an eagle soaring over the sea, I am the oceans stretching over the earth, I am fire, colourful and bright. And when death comes, maybe I won’t be frightened because I have lived my life to its fullest. This is how I felt after Barretstown. Camper, aged 12, Ireland

| | | I was recently at your camp and I had the time of my life. I could not think of a time where I had more fun. I met friends from all over the world and I miss them all. During my time there I realized that Barretstown is not there to let people have fun but it is there for changing peoples lives. And all I have to say is ‘it was brilliant and it also changed my life’. Camper, aged 15, Scotland | |
I do hope that you realise what a huge influence and inspiring attitude you all have. For our son to be told there was nothing he couldn’t do, there was a release and a challenge for him. I feel the benefit will last him some time. Parent, Ireland |

| | | Before my son came to Barretstown he was very depressed and low, which is pretty much expected after all his treatment. Since being with you he has cheered up no end. There is no more sadness and tears. Full of smiles and chat about all the wonderful things he had done with all the gang. Horse-riding was his biggest fear | |
but he conquered that and it’s all down to the wonderful work you do. Parent, UK.
