DAA Cyclists Present €14,000 Cheque To Barretstown

Over 90 Dublin Airport staff took part in a round trip to Barretstown and back on September 15 to raise funds. The cycle began at the Spa Well in Templeogue where the 100k cyclists made the arduous cycle to Barretstown where they met the 50k cyclists for the return journey.

The cheque for an impressive total of €14,257 was presented to Barretstown fund raising manager Liz Denieffe by Ivor Maleady, event organiser, and Siobhan Moore, DAA Charity of The Year Chairperson.

The motivation and passion of my colleagues to innovatively and continuously raise funds for the DAA charity of the year is truly astounding. This is the largest sum raised by a single charity event this year and I am truly proud of all my colleagues for their trojan efforts,” said Siobhan.

The event was greatly supported by main sponsor Eurocycles and further supported by Bus Eireann, Flynn Management & Contractors, Energise Sport, SueFraser Fitness and OCS, without whose support the event could not have been the success it has proven to be.

The annual charity cycle is just one of many events taking place during 2012 to raise much needed funds for Barretstown. Big thank you to all the DAA staff.
