Lidl Celebrates One Year in Partnership with Barretstown

Lidl is delighted to celebrate its 1st year in partnership with Barretstown which has already seen the company raise €330,000 for the children’s charity in just 12 months.

More than 3,500 employees have been busy fundraising right across the country for Barretstown, headed by 140 Barretstown Buddies in every Lidl store in Ireland. Funds have been raised through a variety of exciting events such as store raffles, toy appeals, superhero family days and staff undertaking a cross trainer marathon live in store.

Lidl customers have been very generous in supporting these events and the first companywide fundraising initiative in June 2013 “Bake Off for Barretstown” raised a staggering €135,000 alone. For every €1 spent in Lidl’s fresh bakeries, 20 cent was donated directly to the charity.

Lidl’s support is helping to bring 100s of children and families to Barretstown, ensuring that as many children and families living with childhood illness can gain access to our life changing programme of Therapeutic Recreation, as possible.

Lidl is proud to be part of a three year partnership with Barretstown and has committed to raising at least €1 million during that time.
