Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Applications are now closed for the spring and summer. Autumn applications will open in May, so please do check back with us then.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteer Requirements

You must be at least 19 years or over
You need to be fluent in English
You need to be available for the full length of the camp session.
All camps are residential with the exception of our outreach programmes.
Spring Family/Bereavement camp commitment (12.45pm first day to 3pm on last day)
You need to attend a training session prior to taking up your role at camp (if based in Ireland)

Spring Training Dates:
Thursday 7th February (5.00pm – 9.30pm)
Thursday 21st March (5.00pm – 9.30pm)

Training for summer camps is part of your camp session. You don't need to attend separately. You will arrive one day before the campers for training.

Vetting Procedure

The National Vetting Bureau Act (Children and Vulnerable Persons) 2012 - 2016 provides a legislative basis for the mandatory vetting of persons who wish to undertake certain work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons or to provide certain services to children or vulnerable persons. All volunteers must under go Garda Vetting.

In addition applicants whose country of birth is not Ireland must supply a Criminal Background Check from Country of Origin.

These will be requested once offered a place at camp.

A bit nervous? Nothing to worry about, if you are selected we will give you all the training you'll need prior to camp! New volunteers based in Ireland for our spring and autumn camps must attend a volunteer training day prior to the session (listed below). Summer volunteers your training day is part of your summer sessions so you don’t need to attend separately, you will arrive a day before the campers do. Details of training requirements will be emailed you once selected as a volunteer.
