Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Autumn applications are now open. Camps run from September to mid December.

Please Note: This application is for new volunteers only. As a returning volunteer you receive an email inviting you to re-apply each season. If you have not received please email recruit@barretstown.org

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteer Requirements

You must be at least 19 years or over
You need to be fluent in English
You need to be available for the full length of the camp session.
All camps are residential with the exception of our outreach programmes.
Autumn Family/Bereavement camp commitment is (11am first day to 3pm on the last day)
(Children Camps and Charity Partner camp times may vary slightly). Training will be provided on arrival at your camp session.

Vetting Procedure

The National Vetting Bureau Act (Children and Vulnerable Persons) 2012 - 2016 provides a legislative basis for the mandatory vetting of persons who wish to undertake certain work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons or to provide certain services to children or vulnerable persons. All volunteers must under go Garda Vetting.

In addition applicants whose country of birth is not Ireland must supply a Criminal Background Check from Country of Origin.

These will be requested once offered a place at camp.

Get Ready for Camp!

A bit nervous? Nothing to worry about, we will give you all the training you'll need. On arrival for your camp session you will be trained prior to camper/family arrival. You will also be working with a returning volunteer for guidance.
