Christmas is an extra special time of the year, especially for children. But for some families presents and Christmas trees are far from their priority list when their child is seriously ill.

This Christmas we are asking you to help support Barretstown so that we can bring more families to experience the magic of camp in 2017.

Dee Ahern, CEO of Barretstown, explains “During the Christmas period, through the noise of festivities, it is easy to forget that the happiest time of the year can also be the most difficult for some families. We are here to support those families as they go through this tough journey and we do so with the help of the public. The moment the Gouvea Horan family decided to come to Barretstown was the moment they began to put the pieces of their family back together again. A moment made possible by the people who support us. I’d like to thank you for that support during 2016 and would encourage people to continue to support in 2017.”

Why Barretstown?

Being sick can put a child’s life on hold. Barretstown’s range of camps and programmes offer children a positive, happy and carefree environment where they can be children again – supported behind the scenes by on-site 24 hr medical and nursing care. The below video is just a glimpse at what we do at Barretstown and the impact we have on families lives.
