What's it all about?

The Dublin Mountains Challenge is a fundraising walk for Barretstown. The route follows the picturesque and way-marked Dublin Mountains Way.

The event starts in Tallaght and you can choose to walk the 24km route to Three Rock or the 42km route to Shankill. You can enter individually or as part of a team.

By taking part in the Dublin Mountains Challenge you will help to bring more children and families to camp.

Step 1: Choose your challenge

You can take in either the 42km or 24km challenge, it's up to you!

Walk as an individual, or enter a team of four.

Step 2: Register with Barretstown

Register for the event here. You'll receive a Fundraising Pack in the post shortly, be kept up to date on email and receive an Event Guide two weeks before the event.

Volunteer with us

Are you available to volunteer at the Dublin Mountains Challenge on the 29th May?

We are recruiting up to 100 volunteers to work at the event. The majority of volunteers will work as route marshals.

Volunteers will work in teams and will be taken care of by our volunteer coordinator. There will be a thorough volunteer briefing session in advance of the event, details to follow soon.

Barretstown is a residential camp for children with a serious illness offering a range of adventurous and challenging activities and supported behind the scenes by safe, medical attention.

Barretstown is free of charge to all campers and we must raise over €4.8 million each year to maintain our services.

By taking part in the Dublin Mountains Challenge you are helping to bring children and families to Barretstown.
