Our Magic Moments Wall was inspired by our incredible camper, Áine Ryan, who showed everyone there’s nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it.
During her time at camp, Áine was at our Climbing Wall, surrounded by other camper friends and family she had met. Normally, children with who need extra help would scale the wall in tandem with one of our volunteers, but Áine wanted to prove she could do it all by herself. Despite her mobility challenges, Áine pulled herself out of her wheelchair and climbed all the way to the top, propelled by absolute, sheer and utter determination. It was an incredible moment for her, her family and friends around her, for us at Barretstown and particularly her mum Patricia.
A very special magic moment for Áine and everyone who witnessed it.
