The Barretstown Big Picnic is back! Taking place on Sunday 16th July, we will be opening the gates of Barretstown Camp to the public, to join us for a magical open day. Throughout the day we will be running all our usual activities, and we will have a bunch of special guests helping us to make the day extra special.
The Barretstown Big Picnic Open Day takes place Sunday 16th July, 11.00am - 4.30pm.
The Big Picnic gives families and supporters the rare opportunity to experience the Barretstown Magic for themselves and see what the camp has to offer. It also gives parents, and friends the chance to reconnect with their own childhood through the fun activities.
The Big Picnic is set to be an action-packed day of serious fun activities. Fossett’s Circus will perform three live shows for attendees (booking essential) and you can find more details below.

- Giant games
- Mini golf ...and lots more!
All activities are free, with the exception of the circus which must also be booked.

Coming to the Barretstown Big Picnic is free-of-charge, with the exception of the circus and food. Parking and all activities (besides the circus) are provided for free. No booking is required to attend the Big Picnic, simply show up on the day! Please note, booking is required in advance for the circus.
With the exception of service animals, no pets/animals are allowed onsite
Food& drink will be available for purchase at the Barretstown Dining Hall, as well as from a number of vendors in the courtyard.
Barretstown is located in Co. Kildare, near to Ballymore Eustace. Our Eircode is W91RDX6. Entry to Barretstown will be through the main entrance (A large green iron gate, with a wooded avenue behind it). Click here for Google Maps to the entrance gate.
