Let’s keep the Barretstown Magic alive this Winter!

Thank you for deciding to fundraise for Barretstown! Due to ongoing national restrictions, we’ve been very busy re-scheduling / re-formatting all that Barretstown does, as you can see HERE. As you know, our normal fundraising events have had to be postponed, which is why we’re calling on you to help us fundraise virtually!

Whether it’s hosting a virtual family quiz night, a Christmas Jumper day in work; a silly socks day in school; taking the Christmas Carol Challenge or taking on a 10,000 steps-a-day walking or running challenge….there are loads of great options for you to safely fundraise for Barretstown!

With nationwide restrictions still in place, we're very aware that this is an exceptionally tough time for many of our Barretstown fundraisers, especially now during the winter months. That's why we've put together some positive mental health challenges, to help us all get through the season! Take a look at just some of the ideas below.

Are you up for sharing your musical talent online and giving everyone a lift and doing it as a much needed fundraiser for Barretstown?

HERE'S HOW

CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN!

Why not virtually climb a mountain for us...using your stairs, walks and jogs....just set yourself a target height or distance and then clock up you mileage or stair climbs per day and achieve your goal!
It's simple, fun and healthy!

SET UP YOUR PAGE

CHRISTMAS JUMPER CHALLENGE!

Why not designate a particular day to be your work or college Christmas Jumper Day and do it as a fundraiser for Barretstown!
It's simple:
Pick a day.
Set up a JUSTGIVING online sponsorship page
On your designated day, everyone wears their most over-the-top Christmas sweaters (even if you are working from home!) and makes a donation of €5 or €10 to the fundraising page!

GET FESTIVE!

10,000 STEPS CHALLENGE

We're asking you to challenge yourself to walk or run 10,000 steps a day....for a weekend....or for a week...or for a month! And do it as a fundraiser for Barrestown! Why not set yourself a health target and do some good for others too!

Or join other walkers (adhering to social distancing guidelines!) and take on a 300,000 step challenge between 24th November and 24th December!

SCREEN-FREE SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Invite all the family (or all your friends or classmates) to set aside an hour or an afternoon or an entire day, every week, between now and Christmas, as a screen-free challenge and turn technology off for a while, as a fundraiser for Barretstown!
You can set up a JUSTGIVING page and get friends and family to sponsor you
OR
They can donate via the Barretstown website, by clicking on the DONATE button!

SILLY SOCK DAY!

Have a sponsored silly sock day in school or work?
Set a date and time and everyone pays 5euro into a JustGiving page to wear their most outrageous socks for the day! Maybe have a prize for the best socks!

It's a fun way to have some socially distanced fun and raise valuable funds for Barretstown!

Now is the perfect time to use your daily exercise to help those that need it most.
