Vhi Mini Marathon

Mum of two Elaine Keogh has taken part in the Vhi Mini Marathon for Barretstown for the past two years. Here she explains her motivation for doing so and what she gets out of it.

“2014 was my first time to ever run the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. I had only started running 6 months before the race and I really enjoyed it. I’ve kept up the running since (with the occasional break in between) and completed the Mini Marathon again this year for Barretstown. I chose to raise money for Barretstown as I have a cousin working there and I’ve heard great things about the work they do. Other family members have volunteered for a week/weekend at Barretstown and they speak so highly of the organisation. The Mini Marathon is my way of trying to help out.”
