Introduction

This camp is a 7 day camp for siblings who have a brother or sister (aged infant to 17) who are currently being treated for, or recovering from, a serious illness.

The camp will take place mid-summer and we welcome children aged 7-17 years old from Spain, Germany, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, and Ireland.

Volunteers arrive for 9am the first morning for training and teambuilding before the campers arrive. You will be assigned to work with a cottage group and activity group.

New volunteers are paired with a returning volunteer for guidance.

Parents do not participate in this camp.

Therapeutic Recreation

Barretstown’s unique programmes – using Therapeutic Recreation – are much more than holidays.
They are based on four main building blocks, with the emphasis always, always on FUN – Challenge, Success, Reflection and Discovery.
